The upcoming week offers several high-caliber matchups for multiple Tar Heel teams both at home and on the road. Among them are another installment in a fierce rivalry, an old-school ACC clash on the field hockey pitch and a rare road trip for Mike Schall’s volleyball team.
Tuesday, Sep. 15
After the men’s soccer team played No. 1 Stanford to a 2-2 draw, the Tar Heels will look to continue that positive momentum when they host American at Dorrance Field Tuesday night at 7 p.m. TV channel: ACC Network Extra
Thursday, Sep. 17
The women’s soccer team will welcome its noisy neighbors from down the road as No. 3 Duke comes calling at Dorrance Field. The Blue Devils won the only meeting between the schools last season. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. TV channel: ACC Network
Friday, Sep. 18
In women’s golf, the Tar Heels will begin play in the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, TN Friday morning. The event runs through Sunday.
Elsewhere, the volleyball team will continue its travels when it visits a college blueblood: No. 1 Nebraska. First serve between the Tar Heels and Huskers in Lincoln is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern time. TV channel: Big Ten Network
Saturday, Sep. 19
The UNC men’s and women’s tennis teams will both take part in the ITA All-American Championships starting Saturday, with the events running through Sunday, Sep. 27. The women will be playing down the road at Cary Tennis Park, while the men will travel to Tulsa, OK.
Down in South Carolina, the football team takes its 2-0 record into Death Valley to face Clemson at 12 p.m. The Tar Heels have not won at Clemson since 2001. Radio broadcast available on 97.9 The Hill. TV channel: ESPN
Out in Nebraska, the volleyball team will continue its stay in Lincoln to face Florida Gulf Coast at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
Another Tar Heel football team will face Clemson Saturday. The men’s soccer team will host the Tigers at Dorrance Field that night, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. TV channel: ACC Network Extra
Sunday, Sep. 20
The UNC field hockey team will play its ACC opener at Karen Shelton Stadium against No. 11 Virginia Sunday at 12 p.m. TV channel: ACC Network
After its rivalry tussle with Duke, women’s soccer will continue its Dorrance Field homestand when it hosts Alcorn State at 1 p.m.
