Jean Smart has earned so many Emmy Awards that she has apparently lost track of one.
The Hacks star, who celebrated her 75th birthday on Sunday, Sept. 13, made the surprising confession during an April appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Per Entertainment Weekly, when Jimmy Kimmel asked Smart how many Emmys she had collected, she replied, “I have seven, but I lost one. I don’t know where it is.”
“That means you have too many Emmys!” Kimmel joked.
“Never too many,” Smart shot back.
The missing trophy may be “in a box somewhere,” Smart said. She explained that she keeps the others on a shelf in her office, although one previously spent time with her son’s friend, who borrowed it for a film project.

Smart could soon have another statue to keep track of. She entered Monday’s 78th Emmy Awards nominated for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series for her performance as Deborah Vance in HBO Max’s Hacks.
A victory would give Smart her fifth consecutive Emmy for the role and make her the first performer to win for every season of a television show, Reuters reports.
Long before becoming Deborah Vance, Smart captured viewers’ hearts as Charlene Frazier Stillfield on Designing Women. Her credits since then have included Frasier, 24, Fargo, Watchmen and Mare of Easttown.
According to the Television Academy, Smart is one of only two performers to win Emmys in the lead, supporting and guest comedy categories.
