A major intersection in northwest suburban Spring Grove was closed on Sunday afternoon after a police-involved crash injured eight people.
The Spring Grove Fire Protection District said it was called to a police-involved accident with multiple injuries at Route 12 and Spring Grove Road.
A total of eight people were injured, including one person who was airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford.
Four others were taken to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.
Information on the victims’ conditions wasn’t immediately available.
Footage from the scene showed at least three vehicles appeared to be involved, including a Kia SUV with heavy front-end damage and a Spring Grove Police Department SUV that sustained damage to its passenger side and front bumper.
