The Mission Viejo Nadadores are closing their 360 Performance Center, the club’s post-grad/pro group, head coach Jeff Julian announced on Thursday.
Julian said as part of the decision to eliminate the pro group, his time with the organization has come to an end.
“I cannot express enough what an honor it was to work with the incredible athletes who trusted us with their goals and their careers,” Julian wrote on Instagram. “The opportunity to be part of their journeys, to share in the breakthroughs, challenges, big moments, and everyday work, will forever mean a great deal to me. I am incredibly proud of what we built together and grateful for everyone who was part of it.”

In January 2022, it was announced that Julian would be leaving his post as the head coach of the Rose Bowl Swim Team to head up the new pro group at Mission Viejo.
Originally, the group, which trained out of the same pool as the club, the Marguerite Aquatic Center, featured four-time World Championship medalist Justin Ress, two-time World Championship medalist Trenton Julian, along with World Championship open water swimmer David Heron and former WSU Cougar Taylor McCoy.
Ress won gold in the men’s 50 backstroke and 4×100 freestyle relay at the 2022 World Championships after joining the Mission Viejo group earlier that year, and went on to medal in the same two events (silver in 50 back, bronze in 4×100 free relay) at the 2023 Worlds the following summer.
Most recently, Isabelle Odgers and Brazilian Nathalia Almeida represented Mission Viejo at the U.S. National Championships in Irvine, with Odgers posting the club’s top finish with a 28th-place showing in the women’s 200 breaststroke.
The pro group also included Bahamian Emmanuel Gadson, Antigua and Baruda native Stefano Mitchell, Puerto Rican Yeziel Morales, Mexican Jean Paul Ramis and Youngstown State swimmer Joey Chang.
Gadson competed at the Commonwealth Games this past summer, while Mitchell and Morales were both in action at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
Canadian Olympic gold medalist Penny Oleksiak also moved to Mission Viejo to train under Julian in 2023, having represented the club through May 2025. American Sean Grieshop and Philippines’ Kayla Sanchez are two other notable names that have spent time with the 360 Performance Center group.
SwimSwam has reached out to the Mission Viejo Nadadores for the reasoning behind the decision.
