Lindsay Clancy’s Civil Lawyer Claims Medical Providers 'Dropped the Ball’ ...Middle East

News by : (Us magazine) -

Lindsay Clancy’s civil lawyer slammed her medical providers just four days after her murder trial ended in a mistrial.

On Friday, September 4, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial when the jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict after Clancy, 36, was charged with killing her kids — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — in January 2023.

Clancy claimed in the lawsuit that she repeatedly sought out medical treatment, called crisis hotlines, went to psychiatric facilities for treatment and told providers that her medications were making her symptoms worse in the months before the killings. She is suing several medical professionals that treated her, including a handful that testified in her criminal case.

Following her recent criminal trial, Rosemary Curran Scapicchio – who is representing Clancy in her medical malpractice lawsuit – said that medical records and testimony presented in the case prove her claims against the medical providers.

“We are confident based on the medical records and further supported by testimony at the criminal trial, that we will hold the doctors, hospitals and medical providers responsible for failing Lindsay,” Scapicchio said in a statement to People on Tuesday, September 8. “All of this was caused by the failure of the medical providers. They dropped the ball, and Lindsay and her entire family have suffered as a result.”

In addition to detailing the help she sought out amid her mental health struggles, Clancy’s civil lawsuit claimed she heard voices on the day she killed her children. “This is your last chance. Kill the children so you can kill yourself,” the suit alleged, per People.

Several medical professionals were tasked to testify during Clancy’s criminal trial, including Dr. Phillip Resnick. Resnick claimed that Clancy was “frankly psychotic” on the day she killed her kids and that a “command hallucination” and “delusion of influence” led her to commit the murders.

“It was almost like she was a puppet and someone else was pulling the strings,” Resnick testified during the trial.

While Clancy’s civil case remains ongoing, the outcome of her criminal case is also not known. It has not yet been decided if the case will return to trial. However, her defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, recently asked President Donald Trump to pardon his client.
