Building on what company leaders describe as a constant design cycle of “tradition, evolution, and revolution,” the ship will balance beloved staples with brand-new venues, high-flying thrills, and fresh accommodations.
“When you look at Icon or Oasis class, we’ve also got multiple neighborhoods within a ship that cater to and serve certain kinds of demands and needs,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International at a panel on board Legend of the Seas. “The idea for Royal really is that you can come on board as a family—multigenerational, teens, kids, grandparents—and everybody can go off and have their own enjoyment in their own neighborhood in their own way, and then everybody comes together in the evening.”

A 3-Deck ‘Treehouse’ and Record-Breaking Swim Space
Across eight distinct neighborhoods, Hero of the Seas is pushing both pool deck dimensions and family suites further than its predecessors:
The Ultimate Family Treehouse: Royal Caribbean’s multi-story mega-suites are already legendary, but Hero is introducing a brand-new concept: the three-deck Ultimate Family Treehouse, an over-the-top enclave with private play zones, sprawling terraces, and panoramic ocean vistas. Nine Pools (The Most at Sea): Water-lovers will have nine distinct pools to choose from, including the newly debuted Coconut Cove pool. Adults seeking peace and quiet will find an expanded version of The Hideaway, which will now feature two pools—including the largest swim-up bar at sea. Crown’s Edge & Category 6: Thrill-seekers haven’t been forgotten. 28 Dining Concepts and a New Southern Supper Club
On the culinary side, Hero will roll out 28 dining spots along with cooking classes designed for all ages. Headlining the new culinary concepts is the Orleans Parrish Supper Club, bringing a lively dose of Big Easy-inspired flavor, jazz-infused ambiance, and elevated dining to sea.
That blend of comfort-food classics and envelope-pushing supper clubs is intentional. “People love pizza, burgers, seafood, and steak,” Bayley explains. “Other concepts come and go based very much on customer feedback. If we’ve got the opportunity, we’ll try to improve everything.”
“It really stems from our ultimate mission in life: to deliver the best vacation experiences for someone’s family,” adds Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “We spend a lot of time dreaming and designing these ships six or seven years before they launch. What you see doesn’t just happen—it’s through a lot of interaction with our guests to define what they’re looking for across five or six different generations.”

Where Hero of the Seas Sails
Once delivered in late summer 2027, Hero of the Seas will homeport year-round in Miami, sailing alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Stops will include Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
True to the Icon Class playbook, every single sailing will feature a call at Royal Caribbean’s private island hotspot, Perfect Day CocoCay in The Bahamas.
Bookings for Hero of the Seas are officially open, giving travelers three full years to lock down their cabin on Royal Caribbean’s newest floating playground.
