USA Swimming announced its 2026-2027 National Junior team roster on Tuesday, as 97 of the best 18-and-under athletes were selected to represent the Stars and Stripes.
The 97-swimmer squad was selected based on times in the individual events of the 2028 Olympic Games, with the five fastest times in each event, except for the 100 and 200 freestyle, where six were selected.
“We’re excited to welcome this talented group to the 2026-2027 National Junior Team,” said USA Swimming National Junior Team Director Brendan Hansen in a press release from USA Swimming. “The roster includes Junior Pan Pac medalists and several new faces from a strong summer of racing. As we move through the 2028 quad, our goal is to give these athletes more international racing opportunities and help prepare them for future National Team and Olympic team rosters.”
The 2026-2027 roster features 49 women and 48 men, representing 80 clubs across 28 states.
Audrey Derivaux leads the women’s team with six individual events, while Sydney Schoeck makes the team in four events. On the men’s side, three men are tied for the most qualified events: Joey Eaddy, David Sammons, and Kai Joyner, each qualifying in four events of their own.
California is the most represented state with 12 swimmers, followed by Florida with 10. Four clubs tied for the most National Junior Team Selections: Carmel Swim Club, Lakeside Swim Team, Long Island Aquatic Club, and Nation’s Capital Swim Club each boast three athletes named to the 2026-2027 roster.
