ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Mainly beautiful weather for this Labor Day Weekend will hopefully make up for the ravaging storms and tornadoes we had a few days ago… The National Weather Service confirmed that two more tornadoes touched down near Letchworth State Park on Wednesday, bringing the total up to 7. We average 11 per year. Both were EF1s but caused considerable damage to trees and structures.
Waking up this morning to mostly sunny skies and a nice feel to the air… We’ll rise to the low 70s as cyclonic flow pushes ahead to our northeast and some high pressure moves in from the northwest. Skies will stay mostly sunny and the air remains dry. A small chance for spotty showers overnight near the Finger Lakes that could last into Sunday morning.
Sunday has some cloud cover through the morning, but clears out for the afternoon as high pressure continues to settle. It will be a few degrees cooler, but still comfortable. Then Labor Day is looking great with mostly sunny skies, low humidity, and slightly warmer temperatures getting up to the mid 70s. Get out and enjoy it!!
Tuesday remains rain-free but is cloudier, then the humidity makes a return on Wednesday ahead of a cold front. That front will eventually bring in some rain and thunder overnight that may last into Thursday. Fall-like temperatures return behind the cold front. Stay tuned for more updates.
