The second season of The Gentlemen ends with a truly shocking sequence, as Theo James's Eddie takes brutal revenge on his brother Freddy (Daniel Ings).
Freddy was working under the influence of Gospel John (Pearce Quigley) and his gang, but had his own personal vendetta against Eddie, believing him to have stolen his inheritance.
Eddie then threw Freddy into the van, forcing him to cut John's head off with the chainsaw in order to save his own life. After the job was done, and a blood-splattered, traumatised Freddy opened the door to the van, Eddie told him he was a "good boy", on which note the season ended.
"It's an interesting conceit because Eddie needs to find a way of controlling his brother, but if he kills his brother, then he loses his family, and he loses his soul," James explained. "But he can't not reprimand him for basically murdering the love of his life, so he has to find the sickest, most f****d up way to do that."
James continued: "I guess, after season 2, he has control. But ultimately, in the nod to Godfather 2, it's a dog that needs to be dealt with ultimately, I would assume."
While speaking with Radio Times, James revealed that season 3 will start shooting "pretty soon" - suggesting it should arrive quicker than season 2, which fans had to wait more than two years for after season 1.
