Wilson was an HM in our “Way Too Early Recruit Rankings” for the boys class of 2028 due to his sprint freestyle prowess. After his sophomore year of high school, Wilson’s best 50 free time was 20.64, his best 100 free time was 44.36, and his best 200 free time was 1:37.50.
All of these times came from huge drops during his sophomore year, as he came into the season at 22.10 in the 50 and 47.10 in the 100 free. It was also noted in the recruiting class rankings that Wilson’s 200 freestyle personal best came from 48.22/49.28 splits, which is incredibly consistent for a 200 and points to even room for improvement.
During the long course season, Wilson swam at his first Junior National meet, the NCSA Summer Champs in July.
There, he finished 33rd in the 50 free (23.79), 5th in the 100 free (51.11), and 4th in the 200 free (1:52.06). He also led off his team’s 400 free relay in 50.83 and finished 125th in the 100 fly at 59.46.

50 Free — 20.64 100 Free — 44.36 200 Free — 1:37.50The Indiana men are the reigning Big Ten Champions, though only the freshmen (and maybe the sophomores) from their title winning team will still be around when Wilson arrives on campus in the fall of 2028.
Last season, it took 20.19 in the 50 free, 43.71 in the 100 free, and 1:35.63 in the 200 free to qualify for the ‘C’ final at the Big Ten Championships. Wilson’s times put him just outside scoring position with almost three years remaining to improve before his first Big Ten Championships in February of 2029.
Wilson is a junior at Madison Central High School and swims club for Kentucky Aquatics in Lexington.
He is the first member of SwimSwam’s ranked recruiting class to verbally commit for the class of 2028.
