ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A former certified nursing assistant is accused of attacking a resident in his room at Kirkhaven Nursing Home on Alexander Street in Rochester.
C’Vanna Gibson, 24, of Rochester, was arrested after a New York Attorney General’s Office investigation. She’s charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person and wilful violation of health laws.
Investigators say the attack happened around 3:30 a.m. last December. They allege that Gibson grabbed the resident’s arm and pushed him into the bed, causing a large skin tear, bleeding, and bruising, in December of 2025. Investigators also say Gibson grabbed and twisted the resident’s genitals and threw liquid in his face.
Gibson was arraigned on Thursday in Rochester City Court. She pleaded not guilty. According to the AG’s Office, if Gibson is convicted, she faces up to four years in prison.
The AG’s Office says it worked with the Rochester Police Department on the investigation. After the attack, the resident was taken to the hospital, where he reported it to RPD.
