His attempt to bring Dae’Quan Wright to LSU after the tight end spent training camp with the Cleveland Browns likely played a role in the ruling the SEC’s contesting — saying the conference can’t enforce its ban — being given in the first place.
Is Kiffin the only coach engaging in these actions? No. The SEC has its hands full with numerous basketball situations, ones Kiffin has no impact on. However, Kiffin’s polarity and track record always puts him in the spotlight. His Tigers will be in the spotlight on Saturday night in Week 1, when they battle Clemson to open their season. Kickoff for that contest is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 5 (ABC).
