Actor Henry Winkler and his wife, Stacey Winkler, hosted This Is About Humanity’s 8th Annual Soirée at their Los Angeles home on Saturday, August 29. Co-founded by the Happy Days star’s daughter Zoe Winkler Reinis, the event honored actor Wilmer Valderrama and featured a star-studded guest list, including reality star/entrpreneur/pop culture icon Kim Kardashian.
This Is About Humanity raises awareness about separated families at the U.S.-Mexico border. While fans know Valderrama as the lovable Fez from That ‘70s Show and Special Agent Nick Torres in CBS’s NCIS, he’s also a passionate advocate for humanitarian issues affecting immigrant children and their parents.

The co-founders continued, “His tireless efforts have not only raised awareness for our organization’s mission, but created meaningful conversation in support of families navigating unimaginable circumstances. We are looking forward to honoring his lasting impact with all our supporters and partners this month.”

I have long admired and been proud to support what Elsa, Zoe, and Yolanda have built with This Is About Humanity. They are passionate and tenacious leaders committed to driving change. It is so deeply meaningful that they see me as their brother in our shared commitment to ensure a future where every family feels seen and valued.”

View this post on InstagramAlong with a flock of famous faces, three of Winkler’s grandchildren, Ace, Jules, and Gus, attended the Soirée. The proud actor recently opened up to People, sharing some advice he gave all of his grandchildren (he has seven in total): “These are lessons, like no matter how you learn, it has nothing to do with how brilliant you are. If they have a learning challenge, if school is difficult, if they’re trying something and it’s hard, that tenacity and gratitude are two of the roads to live your life down.”
This isn’t the first time Winkler has hosted the event. Four years ago, Winkler spoke with Today about the 2022 Soirée: “We got an invitation (that read), ‘Come because your daughter and her friends are having an event.’ And then we look to where we were going, it was our house!”
