A TikTok-famous restaurant in Chicago just made Bon Appétit’s highly coveted list of ‘Best New Restaurants’ in the US for 2026.
The list of 19 restaurants was released by the foodie magazine Monday. According to editors, the ones that made the list are both delicious and “fearless about challenging the playbooks by betting on community and creativity.”
“These are the traits that help evolve modern American cuisine,” editors wrote in an announcement.
Restaurants could be considered if they opened between March 2025 and March 2026, the announcement said. Overall, only two restaurants from the Midwest made the list: Anjin in Kansas City, Missouri, and Creepies, in Chicago’s West Loop.
The restaurant, editors said, “breathes new life into French Bistro Classics,” calling out dishes like Warm Brie, Parisian gnocchi, and an “imaginative” croque madam. The restaurant is also often hailed on social media as having some of the best roast chicken in the city.
“If you’re not a Chicagoan, you’ll be forgiven for missing references to the city’s beloved culinary legacies like giardiniera-steamed mussels, or a delicate shareable tarte flambé cut tavern-style (that is, into tidy little squares).”
