A man was shot at killed during an armed robbery at a gas station in Brighton Park early Tuesday morning, with police still on the scene as an investigation continues.
About 2:52 a.m., Chicago police said suspects armed with handguns entered a Thornton’s gas station in the 3400 block of S. California Ave., approached the counter and demanded money from the register.
As the suspects fled the scene with an unknown amount of money, one of them fired shots at a 36-year-od male victim.
The man sustained gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
Early Tuesday morning, multiple police cars could be seen parked at the Thornton’s gas station, with red tape surrounding the building as officers walked in and out.
