ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Greece man says his stolen truck was used in Friday’s break-in at Scott’s Rochester Photo Supply on East Avenue that led to a long list of camera equipment being stolen.

Joe Fleth says he woke up Friday morning and realized his black pickup truck was missing from an apartment complex near Dewey Avenue and Ling Road in Greece. While filing a stolen vehicle report with Greece police, officers told him the truck was seen around 3:30 a.m. going south on Interstate 390.

Someone later sent Fleth a photo posted on social media by Scott’s Rochester Photo Supply showing a black pickup truck involved in a break-in at the store on East Avenue. Fleth says he recognized the truck as his by the rims and the toolbox in the back.

The photo also showed two trash cans in the truck bed. Surveillance footage posted by Scott’s shows thieves filling garbage cans with stolen goods. Fleth says he initially thought his truck had been towed.

“I called 911 and they were like no towing records show any towing. So it’s been stolen. And I kind of was just in shock all day until I found out that it was used for a robbery. And then just kind of rips your heart out. You just you don’t know what to think,” Fleth said.

Fleth says police have not confirmed the truck is his. News10NBC’s Declan Stablow reached out to Rochester Police to see if they could confirm the vehicle involved in the burglary is stolen and whether it belongs to Fleth. Police said they are looking into it.

Fleth says he still has not heard anything about where his truck is now. He is hoping he gets it back without too much damage.
