BBC unveils first look at haunting new ghost story The Witch Farm - as Peter Kay's Car Share star joins cast ...Middle East

Adapted from the BBC Radio 4 series of the same name, the story unfolds in 1989, when couple Liz (Gabrielle Creevy) and Bill (Michael Socha) move from London to rural south Wales for a change of pace.

The synopsis for The Witch Farm, courtesy of the BBC, reads: "What follows is a steady escalation of the chillingly uncanny - unexplained disturbances and an unsettling sense that they are not alone."

"And as the land yields its secrets, so too does their marriage - testing the limits of trust, belief, and what they're willing to deny in order to survive."

Peter Kay's Car Share star Sian Gibson also steps into a more dramatic role for the supernatural tale, portraying medium Bethan, who attempts to uncover the cause of the apparent haunting.

Last but not least, His Dark Materials alum Lewin Lloyd plays Jonathan, the teenage son of Liz and Bill.

Socha and Creevy take over for Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid's Tale) and Alexandra Roach (Nightsleeper), who voiced their characters in the BBC Radio 4 production.
