A man is in critical condition after he was electrocuted while working in suburban Gurnee on Tuesday.
According to Gurnee fire officials, firefighters were called to the 3600 block of Country Club Road just before 11 a.m. for reports of a man who had been electrocuted.
It is believed the man was working on fiber lines in the area when he inadvertently struck an electrified line with a metal tape measure.
Responding firefighters performed CPR and were able to bring him to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
