A type of wooden step stool sold for toddlers on Amazon was recalled after more than a dozen people reported injuries, according to the U.S. Consumer Protection Safety Commission.
Roughly 91,000 of Woodure children’s tower kitchen step stools were recalled by Chinese company Shenzhen Muqiqu Creative Development Co. Ltd. on July 30 because of a risk they could tip over or collapse while in use.
“A child’s torso can fit through the openings on the front and back sides, posing a risk of serious injury and death due to tip over, fall and entrapment hazards,” CPSC said in the recall.
CPSC said 22 people reported instability or tip-overs, including 15 who said their child sustained injuries with scrapes, cuts and bruises.

This recall applies to models WD1764, WD1357, and WD1720. Anyone concerned they have a step stool subject to the recall can find the model number engraved on the underside of the bottom step.
