A man was fatally shot after allegedly stabbing a woman during an argument that turned into a fight in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.
The shooting was reported at around 10:56 p.m. Friday inside a home in the 400 block of West Marquette Road. Police said an argument between a 22-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man became physical, at which pointed the offender pulled out a sharp object and struck the victim.
The victim sustained lacerations to her stomach and was pulled out of the residence by the suspect, police said. A person police described as a known female witnessed the altercation, pulled out a gun and fired toward the suspect, striking him in the chest.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital in serious condition and pronounced dead. The 22-year-old woman was listed in good condition at a local hospital.
Police took the known female into custody and recovered a gun at the scene. Charges were said to be pending as of Saturday afternoon.
