Once in a while, I’ll see a Caleb Williams stat that stops me in my tracks.
And that is precisely what happened when I saw this Twitter/X post from Pro Football Focus hit my timeline:

Browsing through PFF’s data logs on a summer afternoon is fun (to me!) because I tend to learn something new. For instance, Caleb Williams posted a 98.5 PFF Passing Grade on “Deep Center” throws. Of the 30 “Big-Time Throws” Williams connected on last year, 12 of them were in the deep middle. Seven of those tosses went for touchdowns, while just one was intercepted. The adjusted completion percentage (73.5%) is neat, as is the 133.0 passer rating. Williams’ 90.4 PFF Passing Grade on “Deep Left” throws is pretty nifty, too.

Last year, Williams posted a 52.2 PFF Passing Grade on “Deep Left” throws and a 74.1 grade on “Deep Center” throws as a rookie in 2024. His overall passing grade (56.4) and passer rating (59.6) from 2024 feel like a distant memory after the season he had in 2025.
