A suburban public pool was shut down Friday as police say they are investigating a reported threat.
The Oswego Police Department said it was closing the Oswegoland Park District is closing the Civic Center Aquatic Park and Winrock Pool “as a precaution” while officers investigate a potential threat.
“At this time, the threat has not been confirmed, and officers are actively investigating out of an abundance of caution. There is no additional information to share at this time,” the department wrote on social media.
Residents were asked to avoid the area amid the ongoing investigation.
