Severe weather and thunderstorm warnings and watches over the Fourth of July holiday weekend led several Chicago suburbs to cancel or postpone their fireworks and events. The rain and storms also resulted in a “disappointing” Navy Pier fireworks show, which organizers originally said would be the “largest and longest” in history.
But there’s some good news, too: Many places have already announced rescheduled fireworks dates. Navy Pier, which has regularly scheduled fireworks shows Wednesdays and Saturdays over the summer, is also offering up free rides on their popular Centennial Ferris Wheel as a makeup for July 4.
Here’s a list of which suburbs have announced rescheduled dates, and which ones are still in the process of planning. More information can be found on each of the city’s and village’s websites.
