Former LSU baseball star Paul Skenes is headed back to the All-Star Game.
Skenes was officially selected for the Mid-Summer Classic on Saturday evening, marking the 3rd time he’s achieved that feat.

Skenes is set to be Pittsburgh’s lone representative at the All-Star Game unless another Pirate is chosen as an injury replacement. In speaking with local media on Saturday afternoon, Skenes said he was surprised to be his team’s only rep given the strength of Pittsburgh’s offense this season.
“We have the third-most runs in baseball. Our offense is just a buzzsaw,” Skenes said. “Nobody wants to face us. I think it’s pretty easy to make the case for Bryan [Reynolds) and Brandon [Lowe] and I think there are others too … There’s still time, who knows.”

Despite being selected to the All-Star Game, Skenes is not expected to pitch in Philadelphia on July 14 due to his schedule with the Pirates. That’s according to Jason Mackey, who noted that Skenes said he will still attend the game:
