A Minnesota-based company is scheduled to begin mass layoffs next month impacting hundreds of employees in several Illinois counties.
Ideal US Talent Worker OpCo LLC announced under Illinois’ WARN Act that nearly 1,400 employees in five Chicago-area counties would be laid off as part of a “restructuring” with the company.
The counties with impacted workers include Cook, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry, according to the filing.
In a filing in Minnesota, the Bloomington-based company said it would be laying off a number of employees who “work remotely and are dispersed across many job sites across multiple states.”
“As a part of its restructuring, Ideal is transitioning its customer contracts to a third-party partner and has encouraged all affected workers to apply there. The layoffs are expected to be permanent, and there are no bumping rights with respect to this layoff,” Lauren Eagles, Ideal’s operations leader, wrote in a letter.
She noted the impacted employees are “temporary gig workers who are able to pick up shifts at their own schedule and convenience.”
The layoffs, which were first announced in May, are expected to being on July 1, according to the company.
