Rain chances will increase throughout the day, with showers moving from the southwest to the northeast and continuing through the evening and into the nighttime hours. Once the rain moves in, temperatures will climb to the mid-to-upper 60s.

While rain is likely across most of the Chicago area, areas south of Interstate 80 could see higher totals, with some minor flooding possible.

Rainfall totals of around a half inch are expected in most areas, with greater amounts along I-80 and south, Jeanes said.

The rain should be gone by Monday at daybreak – for the most part. A stray shower can’t be ruled out, but the day is expected to be mainly dry. Temperatures are expected to stay in the 70s, with the pattern set to persist through the week.
