HOPEWELL, N.Y. — On Friday, around 3 p.m., deputies from Ontario County went to the area of State Route 488 and Archer Road in the Town of Hopewell for a reported crash involving a motorcycle.

Investigators say a 79-year-old woman, who was driving a car, was going west on State Route 488 when she attempted to turn left into a driveway, leading to a crash with a motorcycle, driven by a 19-year-old man.

The motorcyclist was going east on State Route 488 when the crash happened, and deputies say the driver of the car didn’t give the right-of-way to the victim.

The motorcyclist was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to deputies.

Part of the state route was closed during the investigation, but has since reopened, and deputies say the female driver was given a ticket.
