One of the few bills passed by the North Carolina General Assembly this year was House Bill 696, which gave funding to Medicaid to cover the lack of federal support for the program. But the piece of legislation had other provisions attached that impact healthcare, including measures that add regulations to Applied Behavioral Analysis services (often used for people with autism) and telehealth care. Founder and CEO of Therapy Smarts Avani Shah and N.C. District 20 Sen. Natalie Murdock speak with 97.9 The Hill’s Brighton McConnell on Monday, June 15 about the expected impact those changes will have on families of autistic children and their access to important care.
