Aiden Yeo of the Pleasanton Seahawks will head across the country next fall to continue his swimming career at Duke, becoming the third California native in the Blue Devils’ 2027 recruiting class. He joins Grant O’Mara of San Marino and Rostik Khilko of San Ramon, along with New Yorker Jonathan Packles and Illinois’ Teddy O’Donnell. Yeo, a rising senior at Foothill High School, is a butterfly/IM specialist and Summer Junior Nationals Qualifier.

Yeo has been on a hot streak over the past few months, setting numerous PBs in each of his last three meets. At Speedo Sectionals – Roseville in late February, he hit bests in the 50 free (21.41), 100 free (46.86), 200 free (1:40.53), 200 fly (1:47.22), 200 IM (1:50.00), and 400 IM (3:55.44). He collected three top 8 finishes at those Sectionals, coming in 3rd in the 200 IM, 6th in the 400 IM, and 4th in the 200 fly.
A little more than a month later, Yeo knocked another tenth of a second off his 200 fly PB, posting a 1:47.15 to take 2nd at the PC Far Western Championships. He also reset his best time in the 200 IM, swimming a 1:48.90 to break both the 1:50 and 1:49 barriers for the first time. Other results from that meet included matching his PB in the 50 free (21.41) and best times in the 100 fly (48.99), 50 fly (22.52), and 500 free (4:35.27)
Most recently, Yeo attended the Pacific Swimming Senior Post NCS Meet where he lowered his best time in the 400 IM to a 3:54.25 and won the 100 fly in 48.57, marking yet another drop.
Best times:
200 IM: 1:48.90 400 IM: 3:54.25 100 fly: 48.57 200 fly: 1:47.15 200 free: 1:40.53The Duke men took 14th at ACCs last season, scoring just 18 individual points and 138 points overall. They were led by transfer student Justin Wong, a 200 fly specialist who spent his undergrad at UCSB. Yeo does not have any times that would have scored at conferences, as it took 1:44.99/3:48.98 in the IMs and 46.43/1:45.04 to qualify for a second swim in 2026. However, he will be a crucial addition to Duke’s roster, as he would have ranked 2nd in both butterfly events this past season — behind only Wong, who has graduated. Yeo also would have ranked 2nd in the 200 IM and 3rd in the 400 IM.
Duke welcomes a plethora of talent in their incoming class of 2030, featuring likely training partners for Yeo; this includes Charlie Zuhoski (1:46.9 200 IM) and Yavuz Omer Aga (52.7 100 fly LC). In Yeo’s class, O’Donnell (21.6/48.1 fly) and Packles (3:55.0 400 IM) also compliment his skill set.
