We’re seeing life on all sides of the game today! Craig Counsell even got himself booted!
Moises Ballesteros fouled the ball off his leg, and it should’ve been a dead ball. It was obvious to everyone except the umpires, apparently, who let the play go on, and it turned into a double-play. Craig Counsell came out to give it the ole WTF, and after an umpire huddle, the play stood. Counsell lost it, and got the boot.
Given how long the umpires let Counsell go at it, you could tell they realized they goofed. Since it can’t be reviewed, though, that was that. Cubs get screwed, Counsell gets rung. At least it was funny to watch.
