GrubMarket has expanded its GrubMarket AI platform to include a Sales AI Agent designed for use by wholesale food distributors.
The new Sales AI Agent helps sales teams identify prospective customers, analyze menus and order guides, and generate customer-ready price sheets, the company said in a Monday (June 8) press release.
Sales AI Agent can identify restaurants, food service operators and retailers by zip code; identify products from photos or PDFs of restaurant menus and order guides uploaded by the user; and generate price sheets using configured price groups or custom pricing, according to the release.
Users can then review and edit product and pricing information to tailor proposals for each prospective customer; share generated price sheets with prospects via email, text message, messaging platform or printed copies; and integrate Sales AI Agent with leading food distribution software solutions or use it as a standalone solution, per the release.
“With the Sales AI Agent, we are bringing powerful AI capabilities directly into the hands of food distributor sales teams, enabling them to work more efficiently, engage more prospects and win more business,” GrubMarket CEO Mike Xu said in the release. “This launch represents another important step in our broader vision of building specialized AI agents that automate and optimize every major function across the food supply chain industry.”
GrubMarket Chief Software Product Officer Genevieve Wang said in the release: “The traditional process of researching prospects, reviewing menus, selecting products and building customized quotes can take a sales rep hours for a single opportunity. The Sales AI Agent compresses that process into minutes.”

Sales AI Agent joins GrubMarket’s suite of AI products that includes GrubAssist, which retrieves information and creates orders; AI Orders, which extracts orders from voicemails, emails and texts; AI Chatbot, which supports customers, employees and vendors; and Wholesaleware AI, which provides access to market pricing data for thousands of products, according to the company’s website.
GrubMarket raised $50 million in a Series H funding round in February, saying it aims to extend the reach of its platform beyond the 70 countries in which it currently does business. The round valued the company at a pre-money valuation of $4.5 billion.
