The Edifier M60 combines powerful audio, USB-C connectivity, Bluetooth support, and a compact design to create an outstanding desktop speaker experience.

Not too long ago, I revamped my workspace. I work from home, but my space is limited, so I needed a compact desk solution. The Corsair Platform4, which measures approximately 47 inches in length, ended up being the perfect option for my setup. I power my workspace with a MacBook Pro, but I do have an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, and other peripherals included. The only thing that’s been missing has been a really classy set of speakers. The issue with speakers is that I wanted something powerful, but obviously compact to match the rest of the workspace setup. That’s what led me to the Edifier M60 speakers.

About the Edifier M60 Compact Desktop Speakers

The Edifier M60 is a premium compact desktop speaker system designed to deliver high-quality audio in a space-saving form factor. Engineered for near-field listening, the speakers feature a two-way active design with silk dome tweeters and mid-bass drivers that work together to produce clear highs, detailed mids, and balanced bass. The included angled aluminum stands help direct sound toward the listener, making the M60 an excellent choice for desktop workstations, gaming setups, and home offices.

Modern connectivity options make the M60 versatile enough for a variety of devices. Users can connect through USB-C for high-resolution digital audio, pair wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with LDAC support, or use the auxiliary input for traditional analog sources. Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless certifications further enhance the listening experience, allowing the speakers to reproduce music with exceptional detail and clarity. Combining premium sound, elegant styling, and a compact footprint, the Edifier M60 is designed for users who want an elevated audio experience without sacrificing valuable desk space.

User Experience

The M60s are incredibly easy to get up and running. When you get them out of the box, you’ll find the power cable, speaker interconnect cable, a USB-C cable, the manual, a 3.5mm cable, and a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Since you can connect to them via Bluetooth, USB-C, or AUX, you can be listening to music within a few minutes of unboxing the speakers.

There are a couple of features that I loved right off the bat. First of all, there is a single dedicated speaker interconnect cable that connects the left and the right speaker together. I love this! There have been so many times that I’ve had to connect speakers using speaker wire and they end up missing connections or the wire gets loose. It’s a real pain to deal with when all you want is good quality sound.

Edifier includes a speaker-to-speaker interconnect cable that links the two speakers together and carries both power and audio signals between them. For my desk, the cable length was fine, but if someone has a longer desk, it might not be sufficient. This does appear to be a proprietary cable from Edifier so if it gets damaged, lost or you just need a longer cable, you’ll need to reach out to their customer service.

The second unique feature that caught my eye was the capacitive touch controls on the top of the main speaker. The controls are very minimal, but easy to understand. There is a power/mode button, and volume on the main speaker. It lights up when your hand gets close so that you can see the controls. I love this for compact speakers because it provides the interface without physical buttons getting in the way.

For such a compact set of desktop speakers, I was genuinely impressed by the performance of the Edifier M60. I used them for music, movies, gaming, and voice content, and they consistently delivered clear, balanced sound across the board. What surprised me most was just how much power these little speakers can produce. Looking at their size, I expected them to sound good, but I didn’t expect them to fill my workspace as effortlessly as they did.

Vocals, instruments, and sound effects all come through with excellent clarity, making it easy to pick out details in both music and multimedia content. The bass performance was another pleasant surprise. While the M60s aren’t designed to produce the kind of booming low end you’d get from a dedicated subwoofer, they never sounded hollow or thin. Instead, they deliver a nice sense of depth that gives music and other content a fuller, more engaging sound. The bass is punchy and well-controlled, and at no point did I find myself thinking something was missing from the tracks I listened to.

I was also happy to see that the sound quality holds up well as the volume increases. Even when I pushed the speakers harder, they maintained their balance and clarity without introducing noticeable distortion. Whether I was listening at low volumes during work hours or turning things up for gaming and entertainment, the M60 consistently sounded great.

One of my favorite things about the Edifier M60 is how little desk space they take up. At roughly four inches wide, they’re surprisingly compact for the amount of sound they produce. My desk is only 46 inches wide, and I use a 34-inch ultrawide monitor as my primary display. Even with a speaker sitting on each side of the monitor, my setup never felt crowded or cluttered. If you’re working with a smaller desk or just want to keep your workspace clean and organized, I don’t think you’ll have any trouble finding room for these speakers.

I also found that the included angled stands make a noticeable difference. By aiming the speakers toward my ears, the sound feels more direct and immersive when I’m sitting at my desk. It’s a simple design choice, but one that definitely improves the overall listening experience. Between their compact size, modern appearance, and desktop-friendly design, I found the M60s fit naturally into my workstation. Whether I was working, listening to music, watching videos, or gaming, they felt right at home as part of my everyday setup.

Connectivity has been one of the strongest aspects of my experience with the Edifier M60. I primarily tested the Bluetooth connection using my iPhone 16 Pro, and it performed flawlessly throughout my testing. Pairing was quick and easy, and once connected, I didn’t experience any dropouts or reliability issues. For wireless listening, it has been a smooth and dependable experience.

That said, I found that the USB-C connection provides the best overall audio experience. While Bluetooth sounds great, USB-C delivers a noticeable improvement in clarity and consistency, making it my preferred connection method when I’m sitting at my desk. Switching between connected devices is also incredibly simple. You can change sources directly from the control on the speaker, or you can use the Edifier ConneX app, which adds even more functionality. Through the app, I was able to update the speaker’s firmware, adjust volume settings, select different sound effect profiles, and even enable or disable the system’s prompt tones. The app is straightforward to use and adds a nice layer of convenience that makes managing the M60 even easier on a day-to-day basis.

Conclusion

The Edifier M60 proves that desktop speakers don’t need to be large to deliver impressive sound. Throughout my testing, I was consistently surprised by how much audio performance Edifier packed into such a compact package. What makes the M60 stand out is its combination of premium design, versatile connectivity, and desktop-friendly dimensions. If you’re looking for a compact set of desktop speakers that sound significantly larger than they look, the Edifier M60 is an easy recommendation. They deliver excellent sound performance for while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic that fits perfectly into today’s desktop setups.
