ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An 18-year-old will start his murder trial on Monday.

Michael Garcia is accused of shooting a man on a porch and a 17-year-old who was sitting inside a home on Alphonse Street back in May 2025. The teen was not the intended target and died, according to police.
Garcia was arrested after a SWAT investigation in Brockport.
He was charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Police also say a grand jury could consider more charges against him.
