Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Kyle Burk of the Kennett & Jennersville Area YMCA has announced his commitment to further his academic and athletic careers at Louisiana State University, beginning in the fall of 2027.

Burk wrote the following regarding his commitment.

I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Louisiana State University. I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, and KJAY & RAYS coaches for all of your support and encouragement. I would also like to thank Coach Jon & Coach Rick for believing in me. I am honored to be a part of such an incredible team in the Fall of 2027!  GEAUX TIGERS!

Burk brought home a pair of wins at the UMCA National Short Course Championships this spring, swimming to a new career best in both of those wins. In the 1000 free, Burk clocked a 9:07.23, finishing more than three seconds faster than anybody else in the event. His other win came in the 1650 free, where he dominated, touching in 15:18.28, nearly 20 seconds better than the rest of the event’s field. At those same championships, he finished 2nd in the 500 free in 4:28.01 and swam a career-best in the 200 back in 1:46.38, good enough for 4th overall.

Burk was also named Co-Male Swimmer of the Meet for his performance at those YMCA National Championships.

Burk hails from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, and represents Avon Grove High School in West Grove, PA. Just over two weeks before those YMCA Nationals, Burk competed at the PIAA 3A State Championships. There, he swam a pair of best times in each of his events, including a 2nd place finish in the 500 free (4:23.91), and a 9th place outing in the 200 free (1:39.34).

Best Times SCY:

200 Free: 1:39.34 500 Free: 4:23.91 1000 Free: 9:07.23 1650 Free: 15:18.28 100 Back: 50.40 200 Back: 1:46.38

The LSU Men finished 7th at the 2026 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Based on Burks best times, he would have finished 23rd in the 1650, 37th in the 500 free, and 55th in the 200 free.

With a year still until Burk joins the Tiger men’s program in Baton Rouge, and the recent success that he has seen, LSU should be feeling optimistic about this addition.

LSU did score well in the 1650 last season at SECs, bringing in 53 points in the event, the 3rd most of any team at the meet. The 500 free, though, was not as great a point total, scoring only 4 points as a team.

Burk still has plenty of time to get deeper into the scoring range at SECs, but seeing that his 1650 free could already contribute to the team total is a very promising signal.

Burk becomes the first publicized recruit in the LSU 2027 recruiting class.
