The NBA Draft Combine is well underway in Chicago! Measurements and buzz have been swirling about what should be a wild, deep 2026 NBA Draft next month.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks have already punched their tickets for their respective Conference Finals. The San Antonio Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers lead the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons in their second-round playoff series, respectively, 3-2.

With new Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Bryson Graham already building out his front office with promisingly youthful new hires, it appears he and his reconstituted team are wasting little time in assessing the 72 top prospects on hand for this week’s ongoing NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. The Bulls have the Nos. 4 and 15 picks in the first round. The Bulls have met with anticipated top-four pick Darryn Peterson, according to 670 The Score’s Cody Westerlund. Elias Schuster of Bulls On SI notes that Chicago has spoken with lottery prospects Labaron Philon Jr., an Alabama guard, and Tennessee forward Nate Ament. Stephen Noh of The Sporting News reported Wednesday that the club had not yet spoken with All-Big Ten Washington big man Hannes Steinbach, who’s expected to be selected right around that 13-17 range. Champion junior Michigan center Aday Mara — who would look pretty good in the ol’ red, white and black and could also be available for Chicago around No. 15 — recently sat down to talk about his game with SiriusXM NBA Radio.“I like Jokic now,” Mara said. “And also, there is another one. I watch highlights of [Arvydas] Sabonis. I really like the way he played.”

— SiriusXM NBA Radio (@SiriusXMNBA) May 13, 2026 BYU small forward AJ Dybantsa, the expected No. 1 pick heading into the draft, may be reticent to actually land with the Washington Wizards at that spot. Adam Finkelstein of CBS Sports indicates that Dybantsa may prefer to remain in Utah, where he’s been since his final season of high school at Utah Prep. Finkelstein suggests that Dybantsa will not try to throw his workout with the Wizards, even if he does want to be selected at No. 2 by the Utah Jazz. The first trailer has dropped for former three-time Bulls champion and All-Star power forward Horace Grant’s new interview show, Legends in Session with Horace Grant. I had the pleasure of chatting with Grant for Newsweek about the project last year. Filming on the series’ debut season has now officially wrapped. During its inaugural season, Legends in Session will boast conversations with former Chicago greats Phil Jackson, Toni Kukoč, Bill Cartwright, Charles Oakley, Stacey King and Kendall Gill, plus Horace’s twin brother (and 11-year NBA pro) Harvey, and his former teammates Robert Horry and Vernon Maxwell. Grant also spoke with former MLB stars Jose Rijo and Ron Kittle. Fans can follow the series’ arc to from prep to air on its official Instagram channel. Shot entirely in Chicago’s Urban Grind Studios and produced by Wally Lockard III of Urban Grind TV, Legends in Session is set to be broadcast on cable throughout the Chicagoland area. Nationally and abroad, it will be shown via Urban Grind TV on Roku, Apple TV, and other affiliated networks. Grant reflected on the process of creating the show in a press statement released to Bleacher Nation.“This has been an incredible journey. Sitting down with some of the greatest athletes of our time who I’ve competed with, against, and grown alongside was both humbling and inspiring,” Grant said. “We went beyond stats and highlight reels to really explore their personal stories: the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and the moments that defined their careers. Each conversation was unique, honest, and full of insights that I know fans will appreciate. I’m proud of what we’ve captured, and I can’t wait to share these conversations with the world.”
