During the Thursday, May 7 episode of Brian Entin Investigates, NewsNation Senior Nation Correspondent Brian Entin spoke with Aaron Cross, a PCSD sergeant and the president of the Pima County Deputies Organization.
"I believe that the FBI likely feels as though they were kind of boxed out those first few days. I believe that," Cross said, referring to FBI Director Kash Patel's bold claims about the PCSD's handling of the case, and the department's response.
"Speaking with several detectives, I believe it was just, simply, there was no real information sharing those first few weeks," Cross explained. He then boldly admitted, "Particularly the first week, it was described to me as, frankly, a s--t show. Those are the words they used."
The sergeant also pointed out, "If our own detectives aren't speaking to each other about which witnesses they've already spoken to, what chance is there for agencies that aren't even located inside the same floor in the administration building? So I think they probably knew the sheriff didn't like the FBI and believed that the lack of information they were getting was because of that. And in reality, it's just through leadership incompetence."
“Sheriff [Chris] Nanos responded to the scene the night of the incident, providing immediate local leadership and oversight," the post began. "A member of the FBI Task Force was also notified and present at that scene working alongside our personnel. The FBI was promptly notified by both our department and the Guthrie family. While the FBI Director was not on scene, coordination with the Bureau began without delay.”
