Olympic gold medallist Torri Huske added another award to her collection after winning the Honda Sport Award for Swimming & Diving for the Class of 2026.
The Honda Sport Award honors the nation’s top female collegiate athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports. Huske was announced as the winner of this year’s swimming and diving award on April 29th by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda.
Following a nationwide vote of administrators, Huske, a redshirt senior at Stanford University, was selected as the winner from a pool of four finalists. The other athletes in the running for the award were Stanford teammate Lucy Bell, Virginia’s Claire Curzan and South Carolina’s Sophie Verzyl.
“I am so honored to be selected as the Honda Sport Award winner for swimming & diving,” said Huske. “This year marked a large period of change for me, but I always had my teammates to lean on. They are my motivation, and I’m so excited to share this with them. This is just as much theirs as it is mine.”
Huske is coming off a phenomenal season with Stanford consistently turning in top performances. She brought home three individual titles at the 2026 NCAA Championships, emerging victorious in the 50 free (20.66), 100 free (45.17) and 100 fly (48.49) to bring her career total to five individual NCAA titles. Huske led Stanford to a runner-up finish in the team standings at NCAAs, in addition to leading the meet at the individual level by scoring the maximum 60 individual points. She also picked up two more individual titles at the ACC Championships, winning the 100 fly (48.26) and 200 IM (1:51.27).
During the 2025-2026 competition season, Huske logged the second-fastest times ever posted by a woman in the 50 free and 100 free thanks to her performances at the NCAA Championships. She also became a 28-time All-American and seven-time Stanford program record holder before being named the 2026 CSCAA Division I Swimmer of the Year to cap off an incredible collegiate career.
Huske is a two-time U.S. Olympian and six-time Olympic medallist, having won one silver medal at the Tokyo Games in 2021 followed by three gold and two silver medals in Paris in 2024. She has also racked up 20 World Championship medals, giving her a sizable hardware collection.
Outside of the pool, Huske has earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors and CSC Academic All-American recognition.
Chris Lindauer, head coach and Director of Women’s Swimming at Stanford, commented on Huske receiving the Honda Sport Award.
“What a remarkable achievement for Torri to be named one of the best student-athletes in the NCAA,” Lindauer said. “As one of the best swimmers in the history of our sport, it was fantastic to see Torri wrap up her final college season with three individual NCAA titles. Torri gives it her all every day and is always searching for new ways to improve. Most importantly, her leadership for our team and our sport as a whole helps elevate and inspire future generations to dream. Congratulations, Torri!”
In addition to receiving the Honda Sport Award, Huske is also now a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year honor and the Class of 2026 Honda Cup, both of which will be presented on July 27th.
