Ramakrishna Ghosh has reportedly suffered a fracture to his right foot and, therefore will miss the remainder of IPL 2026. The five-time champions are already plagued with multiple injuries, with the likes of Ayush Mhatre, Khaleel Ahmed being ruled out of the tournament. Ghosh, who warmed the bench throughout IPL 2025, took part in his first game of the league against MI on Saturday, and even picked up a wicket apart from taking a brilliant catch.

“Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026,” CSK said in a statement issued on social media platforms.

Ghosh made an instant impact on his arrival in the IPL, bagging the prized wicket of Suryakumar Yadav as his first scalp. The Indian T20I captain was caught out at the sweeper cover as he attempted a big hit but failed to get the distance.

The Maharashtra all-rounder made his List A and T20 debut in 2023 and 2022 respectively and has grown leaps and bounds over the years. He now has 21 wickets from 11 List A games while he has less superior numbers in T20s, with just 2 wickets from 9 games. However, Ghosh proved that he is a force to be reckoned with in terms of batting, having scored 246 runs from 11 List A matches, including a 73-run knock against Punjab in his first game of VHT 2025/26.

Ghosh has fared slightly better in red-ball cricket when compared to his prowess in the limited-overs formats but is a budding cricketer who is surely talented. Born on August 28, 1997, the 28-year-old is a right-handed fast bowling all-rounder. He is a regular for Maharashtra in all formats of the game in the recent past.
