The 2026 NFL Draft is here. The Chicago Bears are on the clock at No. 25 tonight in Pittsburgh, and we’ll be tracking every pick they make from Round 1 through Round 7 right here, all weekend long.
Chicago enters this draft at a different kind of crossroads than the one that defined the last few years of this rebuild. The roster has a core. The quarterback is in place. The coaching staff, led by Ben Johnson, has already proven it can translate draft capital into immediate contributors. Last year’s class produced three rookies who started meaningful games in Colston Loveland, Luther Burden III, and Kyle Monangai. The standard has been set.
What the Bears need now is volume and value. Contract extensions are coming for Darnell Wright, Caleb Williams, and Rome Odunze, with Burden and Loveland to follow not long after. Once that money gets allocated, the margin for error in free agency shrinks considerably. Finding starters on rookie-scale deals — this weekend and in every draft that follows — is the mechanism that keeps Chicago’s contention window open.
