Let’s talk about what’s happening in NCAA swimming right now — because everyone in this community is feeling it.
Programs are being cut. Budgets are shrinking. Roster limits are shifting. The landscape that coaches and swimmers have built careers around for decades is changing fast — and not always in the direction we hoped. Coaches with decades of experience, real talent for the sport, and genuine passion for developing athletes are finding themselves in programs that may not exist in five years. Or three. Or one.
The NCAA has given this sport so much. But it has never — and will never — give you control over your own destiny.
And that’s the conversation nobody is having loudly enough.
Let me start by saying something I mean completely:
