Clarkson has previously shared his thoughts on when the series will ultimately end, previously saying that while they will "definitely" make six seasons, he will stop doing them "when there are no more ideas".
Now Andy Wilman – producer and Clarkson's long-time collaborator – has said the show will only continue as long as Clarkson wants to do it.
"The Grand Tour, we brought that to an end, we planned that – we were like, we have to land the plane while it's still dignified and in the air and we’ve still got an audience.
"The same will have to happen with the farm. I don't know when that is because you've got to remember it's Jeremy's show. It's his show because it's kind of his baby, whereas Grand Tour we all had ownership of.
"The farm is his baby and if at the end of a series he can think of something he wants to do for another series then he'll do it. But at the end of a series one day, he'll go, 'I cannot think of anything else to do or say' then that'll be the end of it. It hasn't happened yet but that's that's the agreement he has with Amazon."
