The Indiana Swimming Age Group Short Course Championships went off at the end of March, and Fishers Area Swimming Tigers 10-year-old Gabriel Brown made his mark on the all-time leaderboard in four different events, jumping up to 3rd in the 200 free with his winning time of 1:56.93.

Brown was the boys 10 & Under high point champion, bringing in 120 total points, sweeping all six of his individual events at the meet in almost entirely personal best times.

His highest all-time placing in the 10 & Under rankings at this meet came from his 200 freestyle time of 1:56.93. This swim makes him the 3rd fastest 10 & Under boy in history in the event behind Kaii Winkler‘s 1:56.41 from 2017 and Trevan Valena‘s 1:56.63, also from 2017.

He also moved up to the top 10 in the 200 IM, swimming 2:12.52 to come in just over two seconds off Ayden Tan‘s 2023 NAG record time of 2:10.12.

In the 100 back, he moved up to 10th with his 1:01.12 and in the 100 free, he jumped to 18th in 55.01.

Brown also won the 100 fly and 100 breast at the meet, touching in 1:01.91 in the fly and 1:12.42 in the 100 breast. He set personal best times in the 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, 100 fly, and 200 IM individually, and he also led off the 200 freestyle relay in a personal best 25.76.

Brown will be 10 through the rest of the long course season, and will age up at the start of next short course.

Another swimmer to jump up the all-time rankings was Carmel 13-year-old Kate Allen. Allen tied for 13-14 girls high point with Fishers 13-year-old Grace Gannon with each scoring 134 total points.

She moved up to 34th all-time in the 200 IM, swimming 1:59.65 to drop under 2:00 for the first time, taking half-a-second off the 2:00.24 mark she swam in January at the Mid States All-Star Championships.

Allen also jumped to 52nd in the 200 free, touching in 1:47.71, her 2nd time ever under 1:50 and a near two second drop from the 1:49.47 she swam in January.

She set other personal bests en route to her wins in the 50 free (23.12), 100 free (50.46), and 500 free (4:49.95), and her 2nd place finishes in the 50 fly (25.18) and 400 IM (4:19.21).
