An Arizona man was arrested on murder charges in the deaths of his parents after police said he called 911 and shared that he killed them.
Following Jonathan A. Turk’s 911 call on Tuesday, March 30, officers found the bodies of Fraser S. Turk and Tina B. Turk inside their home in Peoria, which is a suburb of Phoenix, according to a Peoria Police Department news release shared with Us Weekly.
Jonathan, 29, was arrested “without incident” at the home, police said.
Jonathan admitted to authorities that he “murdered his parents with a hammer and a knife” because became upset with them “for putting him on medication,” according to court documents reviewed by AZ Family.

In an upstairs bedroom, police discovered a hammer and knife in a trash can, court filings say, the outlet reported.
Fraser, 63, was found dead at the top of a staircase, according to court documents obtained by the Arizona Republic. Tina, 56, was discovered dead inside of a master bathroom.
Now, Jonathan is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the killings, according to police.
It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
At a court appearance following Jonathan’s arrest, a state attorney quoted by FOX 10 Phoenix said that prosecutors “have concerns about his mental health and mental stability at this time,” and added that Jonathan “has multiple prior mental health petitions, including three in 2026.”
Authorities said Fraser and Tina had filed mental health petitions for their son, according to the outlet.

In May 2023, the Peoria Police Department issued a missing persons alert for Jonathan, who was considered endangered.
Jonathan, then 26, was reported missing after he left a Peoria home in a vehicle, police said. He was located within a few days.
At the time, police said that “according to family members, Jonathan is on several daily medications due to medical conditions.”
Rob Cagnetta, a family friend of the Turks who spoke with ABC15 Arizona, said that Jonathan’s parents “were great people.”
They both worked in the medical field, according to Cagnetta, who told the TV station that Fraser was a physician’s assistant while Tina worked as a nurse.
“It comes as a complete and total shock that this would happen,” Cagnetta said of their deaths, according to the TV station.
