Panel Name: Housing: Any relief in the high country?

Moderator: Reporter Jason Blevins

The housing crisis in the high country continues, but has anything taken place to take off some of the pressure? What’s happening to make it better after communities and the state implemented a litany of new laws and regulations? The panel will include Kimball Crangle, president of the Colorado market for Gorman & Company, and Tim Wohlgenant, CEO of Yampa Valley Community Foundation.

Kimball Crangle, Colorado market president for Gorman & Company

Formerly, Crangle was the senior developer for Denver Housing Authority, the largest public housing authority in Colorado. She has initiated more than 20 development projects across Colorado, including more than 1,000 affordable and workforce apartment homes.

Crangle has served as the director of Real Estate Development for Adams County Housing Authority.

She received her master’s degree in urban planning and economic development from the University of Colorado-Denver and her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kansas.

Tim Wohlgenant, CEO of Yampa Valley Community Foundation

Wohlgenant has been the CEO of Yampa Valley Community Foundation since May 2020. Previously, he served as a principal consultant for South Dakota Agricultural Land Trust, the coalition director of For the Love of Colorado — an organization bringing together water stakeholders across the state to address the funding gap within implementation of Colorado’s Water Plan — and worked with the Trust for Public Land for more than nine years in various capacities.

While Wohlgenant founded the Trust for Public Land, he was named chief operating officer and helped raise more than $92 million to protect land across the state.

He received his master’s degree in conservation biology from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and his bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University.

The panel, “Housing: Any relief in the high country?” is one of 11 conversations scheduled for Colorado SunFest 2026.

The fourth annual Colorado SunFest is Friday, May 1, at Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs on the University of Denver campus. Tickets for the event are available on The Colorado SunFest event page.
