Sydney Ho from Paradise Valley, Arizona has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at BYU beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
“I’m so blessed to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Brigham Young University! Thank you to all the amazing coaches who have helped me along the way, the family, and friends who have supported me through early mornings and tough practices, and lastly thank you to the incredible coaching staff at BYU for giving me this opportunity. GO COUGS!”
Ho swims for Phoenix Swim Club and most recently competed at the Golf Southern Championships back in December. There she was slightly off her best times with a 1:55.35 200 free and a 5:13.26 500 free.
Most of her SCY lifetime bests come from last March at Sectionals in Austin where she swam to a 4:59.65 in the 500 free, breaking the 5-minute mark for the first time. She also swam a 10:19.22 best time in the 1000 free as well as a 17:22.15 in the 1650 free.
Ho’s Best SCY Times Are:
500 free: 4:59.65 1000 free: 10:19.22 1650 free: 17:22.15The BYU women finished 8th out of 10 teams at the 2026 Big 12 Championships. Lucy Warnick led the way with 56 individual points including a 3rd place finish in the 400 IM with a 4:15.78.
Based on her best times, Ho is just off what it took to final as it took a 4:56.89 in the 500 free. It took a 17:01.70 to score in the 1650 free. BYU had one ‘B’ and one ‘C’ finalist in both the 500 and 1650 frees.
Ho will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Eliza Furqueron, Chesney Bonner, Lauren Nielsen, Summer Thresher, and Annabelle Martin.
