ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Gas prices jumped up by 46 cents over the past two weeks.

The national average price for regular gas now sits at $4.06 per gallon. That’s up by $1.04 per gallon in the past five weeks and 90 cents more than what the price was one year ago.
In Rochester, the average price is about $3.93, according to GasBuddy.
High oil prices are also contributing to the price climb at the pump. Projections for crude oil prices range between at least $100 and more than $200.
