March 26-29, 2026 Ithaca, New York SCY (25 yards) Meet Mobile: “2026 EC North Speedo Short Course Sectionals” Day 1 Recap Day 2 RecapNumerous 15 year olds had a strong showing on the 3rd night of competition in Ithaca. Leading the way was Joey Eaddy who won the boys 500 free in a 4:22.43. That dropped 3.06 seconds off his previous lifetime best. With his swim, Eaddy now sits at #78 all-time in the 15-16 age group.
Eaddy was the only 15 year old on the boys side to earn a win, but three 15 year old girls swam to a win. Andrea Qie kicked off the night and dropped 0.19 off her entry time to win the girls 200 fly in a 1:58.90. She won by almost three seconds as Kelsey Grayson was 2nd in a 2:01.70.
Fellow 15 year old Sarah Zhang dropped 0.89 in her win in the 200 breast with a 2:11.71. That swim moves her from just outside the top 100 all-time in the 15-16 age group to now sitting at #72. Zhang finished over three seconds ahead of Wisconsin commit Vivian Moulson who swam to a 2:15.35 for 2nd. The final 15 year old to win tonight was Milly Birch who swam to a 4:49.39 in the girls 500 free. Birch has been as fast as 4:47.73 before.
Also earning wins on the girls side was Riley Anderson. Anderson won the 50 free in a 22.23, her 2nd win of the meet as she also won the 100 fly. After two wins last night, Carly Afanasewicz won the 100 back tonight in a 52.61. That was just off her lifetime best 52.55.
The 200 breast was the closest event of the night on the boys side as Spyros Argeros touched in a 1:57.76 and earned the win on the final 50 as he passed Eddy Chen who swam to a 1:57.89 for 2nd. Argeros dropped 0.80 seconds off his previous lifetime best 1:58.56.
After a 2nd place finish in the 100 fly last night, Northwestern commit Zack Kusch touched for the win in the 200 fly tonight with a 1:45.12. That dropped a second and a half off his previous lifetime best 1:46.72. Also earning a win was Army commit Hunter Zipperer won the 50 free in a 20.16, just off his lifetime best 19.96 that he swam earlier this month.
17 year old Jonathan Packles won the 100 back in a 48.78, just off his best 47.95 that he swam last month. Packles is a Duke commit.
