After an ugly loss in Philadelphia last night, the Blackhawks get to face one of the two teams between them and the top odds in the 2026 NHL Draft Lottery. The New York Rangers are a hot mess and come into tonight’s game losers of their last two and boasting a 9-18-7 record at Madison Square Garden.
The Blackhawks should come out of the gates firing and beat a bad team that’s given up. Let’s see if they have a little extra jump to start tonight, even if it’s the second night of a back-to-back.

The Rangers are a dumpster fire. But the Blackhawks are playing the second night of a back-to-back with travel in between. Lots of lottery balls interested in this game… The first-game excitement are out of the way for both Frondell and, now, Boisvert. Frondell’s second game was solid again. I’d like to see more ice time for Boisvert in this one. That, however, depends on the Blackhawks staying out of the penalty box. The line of Bertuzzi-Nazar-Lardis was excellent against the Islanders and then weren’t as visible in Philly last night. Hawks need them to make an impact tonight.
