ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A woman has been sentenced to prison for the death of her 3-year-old son.
Andrea Lipton was sentenced to six years in prison, plus two years of post-release supervision, for the death of Kei’mere “Moochie” Marshall. Prosecutors said Lipton delayed getting help for the boy after her boyfriend, Anthony Love, severely beat him.
In 2022, Lipton was convicted of manslaughter, but it was overturned after a state appellate court ordered a new trial. The appellate division said statements Lipton made during the police investigation after she invoked her right to remain silent shouldn’t have been allowed.
Love is currently serving a 25 year sentence in prison. A jury found Love guilty of first degree manslaughter in 2022. He was facing murder and manslaughter charges in the death of Marshall, but the jury found him not guilty of murder.
