ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re back on the milder side of things, with highs in the 50s on Wednesday, pushing into the lower 60s on Thursday ahead of a cold front. The first at least half of the day will be dry before showers start to work in. These showers will become a steadier rain with some rumbles of thunder possible south. Rain will begin to taper off and push south late evening and overnight. There may be some wet flakes on to end as the rain moves away, but little to no accumulation.
Then we go back to winter for a few days starting on Friday. Temperatures by Friday morning will be dipping into the upper 20s and only top out int the lower 30s. Clouds to start should give way to a fair amount of sunshine by the afternoon.
The weekend starts off chilly, with highs once again in the 30s and some flurries. Expect little to no accumulation. Sunday should be dry and start our next little warm up. Highs on Sunday are back in the 40s.
We climb back into the 50s, possibly 60s by Monday of next week, but there are signs that this milder air may not last into Tuesday, which would mean we turn a little chilly again for the home opener for the Rochester Red Wings. Some showers are also possible for the game. Stay tuned. Signs also point to another, potentially bigger warmup toward the middle of next week. But the exact temperature forecast remains very tricky for much of next week.
